RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya students participated in the DSMUN,2022- The 15th Edition
This year the students of Rajkumari Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya have participated in the online DSMUN(Doon School Model United Nations ) conference organised by The Doon School, Dehradun. The DSMUN is the largest student-run MUN in India, attracting students from across the nation.
The conference lasted for three days from 18th August'22 till 20th August'22. It attracted more than 300 participants from all over India. DSMUN has provided 10 committees this year: UNSC, UNHRC,DISEC,IAEA,SPECPOL, ECOSOC, LOK SABHA, The Viceroy's Cabinet, 1929 Atlantic City press Conference and IPC.
Vidyalaya selected and garnered 11 students to represent the school. They participated in various committees. Among many committees that our students participated in, two of the committees were recognised as the best committees.
Rashmi Elangbam, who was a delegate in the '1929 Atlantic City press conference' committee, and her team bagged the "Small best committee" award. Thendrilla Haorongbam, a delegate in "Lok Sabha" committee, and her team bagged the "Large best committee" award.
For three days, the participants explored culturally diverse perspectives and ideas on a variety of issues. They had thoughtful conversations, heated debates and shared working papers on the path to resolution and unanimous decision. The conference successfully created meaningful, impactful discussions over the intense days of debate.
